Their rooms were unique with a traditional batak style or even a regular brick wall chalet. It seemed like an orchard with so many different kinds of fruit trees. We had a room that faced the sunrise and we could even see the sunset within the resort, a few steps away to the other side. The room was comfortable and clean with good ventilation but as you're surrounded by nature, be prepared for some bugs that might have snuck in. Evan from reception was extremely helpful and assisted us to arrange tours for us and give us suggestions on where we should go. Rahman was also very kind and helpful to give a tour of the resort and even the names of the fruits. We even managed to try the local avocados (it has a sweet aftertaste which is different from what I am used to but delicious irregardless).

directly in front of the lake. We booked the traditional batak-style house which is cute like a hobbit house (for ppl with height of over 1,80 m the ceiling could be too low ; ) while lying in bed with the open mini-door, you can see the water like being on a boat … absolutely highly recommended for ppl who are looking for some rest, spending their time with sitting on the balcony, enjoying the quiet lake. The restaurant is open any time with a variety of food. We spent there 6 days and tried nearly the whole menu and almost everything was really delicious (try the homemade french fries ; )) The staff can speak English very well & is reserved but friendly. You can rent a motorbike there too.

Tuk Tuk Timbal Bungalows was in the most beautiful location and our traditional Batak house was perfect. It was an amazing experience to stay in this place; we started every morning with a dip in the lake and a coffee in the serene restaurant, taking in the panoramic views of the Lake Toba. The food was good and we were astonished by how cheap everything was - excellent value for money. Do yourself a favour and book a stay here! You won't regret it. One thing to note, the WiFi does not reach to the bungalows - this wasn't an issue for us as it encouraged us to disconnect from the outside world and be present. Thank you Tuk Tuk Timbal for a highly memorable stay!

The bungalows are located on the northern side of Tuk-Tuk, away from the denser part of the island with all the resorts. So it's nice and quiet and the view is lovely. It's also just 500m away from the Batak village, which was for us the best Batak-themed thing to visit on the island. The restaurant is good, we had practically all our meals there. The owner helped us reserve the ferry and rent scooters, which were indispensable to visit the island. Our family bungalow had its own water dispenser, a fridge and a stove. Our children enjoyed the playground and swimming in the lake.

The staff is soo friendly and the location of the hotel is so near to the lake. so the view is very pretty and calm in the morning. Besides, many water activities available nearby the hotel. There are many additional rooms compared to year 2023.
